Our Maintenance Strategy

Whether we installed your landscape or are maintaining/cleaning up an existing yard, our maintenance strategy is the same.

At each visit you can expect a thorough assessment of plant health, water availability, and environmental concerns. We pull weeds by hand to ensure that the root is removed and bundle all waste to prevent seeds from spreading throughout the landscape. Our team avoids regular pesticide and herbicide use, opting instead for organic strategies whenever possible. However, serious infestations or regular issues may require bringing in the big guns including sprays, permeable landscape fabrics, preemergent granules, and tillers.

We strongly recommend regular mulching and require a thick layer of mulch at the end of every installation. Bark mulch is decorative, but is also important for weed prevention and moisture retention. It is able to shade and cool roots, create a barrier between blow-in seeds and the soil, and slowly breaks down to help build new soil. Mulch is the number one curb-appeal item we recommend. If you are on a budget, prioritize mulch.

*We will never apply rubber mulch, dyed mulches, or contaminated products.
